I enjoyed the story immensely! I do believe it could be polished up a little bit in regards to a few errors. Those seem to distract me from the story. I will, however, read more of this author's work.Product details

The Double Edged Sword eBook Lorraine Jean Bush Robert Atkinson Reviews
A touching yet dark intense novel, well enjoyed and loved. I will most definatley be buying more of this authors work.
Strongly affected by their traumatic childhoods, sisters L.J. and Jo felt like outsiders. When the unhappy sisters reunite and are led into an even darker world than they had experience, a transformation takes place. In THE DOUBLE EDGED SWORD by insightful author L.J. Bush, there is hope for growth. What dark charms did the charismatic stranger use to bring on confidence? Isn't life exciting with a little more boldness? Things for L.J. and Jo get worse before they get better!
A very different book from my normal genre, I found this to be an exceptionally well written novel about the life of a girl who suffers abuse in her unhappy, lonely and traumatic childhood where her supposed guardian angel just watches......waits......and finally recruits, she goes on to have an unexpected reunion with her sister Jo as they try to find out who their creator was in a world of vampires in the famous Jack the Ripper setting of Whitechapel in the East End of London.
A great book interspersed with some good quality poetry where the conclusion nicely sets up a sequel, I cannot wait to start reading the second book in this trilogy, if it is nearly as good as this one I will not be disappointed......well done LJ.
Having met this new author, L J Bush, on a social media site I decided to review her new book `The Double Edged Sword.' This is an interesting book. The story is fast paced and would engage anyone who is interested in fantasy and more specifically vampires. The main character moves from a life of abuse to one of despair and then her life changes dramatically. I really don't want to spoil the story for anyone who is interested in reading it and I know there will be a sequel. What I loved specifically was the quirky style it was written in, the poetry that linked into the story and as the book progresses I actually wanted and expected more verse. On the basis that this is a talented author (read her poetry), the story was engaging, the style was quirky and I loved the poetry in it, I reviewed this book as 5*.
If you're looking for a book overflowing with silvery prose, or filled with impeccable diction, then you should buy Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, or Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.
However, if you want to read something raw, and visceral. Something that will make its way into the darkest recesses of your mind and haunt those parts of your brain you would prefer were left alone, then you should read The Double Edged Sword by LJ Bush.
The author is no Jane Austin, or Charles Dickens, but then she doesn't pretend to be. However, there is an edge and a fire and a power in her work that is unique and extraordinary.
Although ostensibly a vampire tale, The Double Edged Sword tells the story of a girl who is abused and neglected by those who should have loved and protected her. It charts her recovery from the kind of childhood that even Dickens would have hesitated to write about. Jane Austen, meanwhile, would have gone to her grave without ever conceiving that such horrors could be visited on an innocent child.
Above all, The Double Edged Sword is a testament to the courage and the strength of character of the author, LJ Bush. Because, make no mistake about it, much of this book is autobiographical. And if ever a voice deserved to be heard it is hers
I enjoyed the story immensely! I do believe it could be polished up a little bit in regards to a few errors. Those seem to distract me from the story. I will, however, read more of this author's work.
