"Game of Hearts" by Kathryn J. Bain was a terrific romantic novel. This is a story of a woman named Deborah Zimmerman.
and the way she handed a 'dad beat dad, (ex husband), financial stress,' mean father, and her dear children. I think that her friends (Scarlett, Jory, Rebecca) that Debi played with monthly 'game of hearts' and went to church with her really played a positive role in helping her deal with her life especially through prayers and helping her with some of her needs..... such as clothes, food, and money.
Picking up a cake for Debi's daughters'(Sara) birthday and falling into Brandon Nash....and running into him while on a run, then seeing him at church...Debi and Brandon soon became friends and from that.....now at this point you will have to pick up this good read and find out what is in store for Deborah Zimmerman's story. In the end ... with God on Debi's side... How can she lose in getting what she needed?
I found "Game of Hearts" a beautiful short read that I really enjoyed. I would recommend to any adult as a good read.

This author's humerous writing style is a fun read. Love it! Be sure and watch out for more of her work.
I enjoyed this book, as I do all of Ms Bain's books. Simple, easy read.
This is a nice romance that many single parents face and many have struggles with their faith as well. Deborah is a strong woman, though she does not realize how strong, and Brandon seems to be the perfect match for her. Games of the Heart has some tough times as well as a few chuckles for the reader. It is a book that anyone will enjoy.

This was a cute Christian romance.
I loved Deb, Brandon and the kids.
It is nice to see romance and to have a man accept your children.
It was sad that Michael was such a bad father to his children.

Game of Hearts, like everything Bain writes, is witty, sassy, and just plain fun. I chuckled my way through the parking lot cake disaster in the rain, and the rest of the story kept me alternately nodding my head and cracking up in laughter as each lifelike character either reminded me of someone I know of or just entertained me with hilarious comments or actions.
Kathryn Bain's stories are always well-plotted, with surprising twists and well-crafted endings. She has a knack for relating to the rest of us, and keeps the reader hooked from the first page to the last. I look forward to reading her next book!
Game of Hearts is a inspiring,sweet, funny romance about Deb who is divorced with three kids. Deb is going through a rough time when she meets Brandon. She is more than a little hesitant with men. Brandon is a really good guy and is just what Deb needs. I was laughing and cheering for Deb and her family the whole time. I loved the mix of friends Deb has and how they all support each other. I also think she nailed the kids. Ms. Bain creates a real life story that warmed my soul and left me with happiness in my heart. I also like the cover. This story did not contain any swearing or sex for those who like to know.
Game of Hearts is about a woman who is down on her luck and fighting to make a good life for herself and her children. Deborah is a single mother working as hard as she can and can barely scrape by. Things would be a lot easier if her ex-husband would cough up some child support that he owes. With supportive friends Deborah manages to keep her chin up and be the great mother that she is.
The book starts out with Deborah buying a cake for her daughter's party. While walking to her car in the rain she bumps into a hunky man named Brandon and the cake goes flying and lands on her head. Brandon being a gentleman goes back into the store and buys her a bigger and even prettier cake. This starts a relationship that is sweet and made me hope that Deborah and Brandon wind up together.
The book as a whole was an enjoyable read. I feel that it accurately described a real life situation and didn't make single parenthood a walk in the park as some books try to do. I suggest this if you enjoy Christian romance books, or even a romance book that isn't full of smut.
